Bahamas

The Bahamas signed the Mine Ban Treaty on 3 December 1997, ratified on 31 July 1998, and the treaty entered into force on 1 March 1999. The Bahamas has yet to enact domestic implementation legislation.^[1] The Bahamas submitted an initial Article 7 transparency report on 12 March 2002, but it has not submitted the subsequent annual report, due 30 April 2003. The Bahamas sponsored and voted in support of pro-ban UN General Assembly Resolution 57/74. It has never produced, transferred, or used antipersonnel mines.^[2] In its Article 7 Report, the Bahamas declared no stockpile of mines, including for training, and confirmed that it is not mine-affected.^[3]
